Types of Business Registration

1. Domestic Company

For domestic companies or foreign subsidiaries

Private companies (partnerships or limited by shares)

Public companies

2. Individual Enterprise

For sole traders or partnerships

Less than RWF 10,000 turnover per day

3. Foreign Company

For existing companies registered abroad

Operating as branch in Rwanda

Shareholding Rules

100% non-local shareholding is allowed

No minimum number of shareholders required

Shareholders can be Rwandan nationals, foreigners, or legal entities

Reserve for 30 days

Step 2: Submit Documents

Articles of Association

Identification of shareholders/directors

Step 3: Registration

Certificate of Incorporation issued

Automatic tax registration with RRA

Step 4: Post-Registration

Register with RSSB (social security) within 7 days

Obtain sector-specific licenses
